Rebecca Davis is a video journalist based in New York City. Her work focuses on social issues, community programs, the arts, and unique and inspiring individuals.
She was awarded an Emmy in 2013 for her series "We witnessed 9/11 through their lenses," which profiled six Daily News photographers who worked the day of the 9/11 attacks. She was nominated for an Emmy in 2012 in the category of Best Education Feature for her piece on an arts program that teaches beat-boxing to the blind at the LaVelle School in the Bronx. Her work has been recognized by the National Press Photographers Association, the Society for Features Journalism, the New York Press Club and Communication Arts.
Rebecca received a Bachelors degree in Studio Art and Anthropology from the University of Virginia and a Masters in Journalism from the University of Texas. She was selected as a Knight Foundation Digital Media Fellow in 2011 and has worked for TIME, the washingtonpost.com, City Limits, Kyodo News International, The Bronx Times, the New York Daily News and most recently for NBC.
